About Marcus Yax
Councilman Yax is currently serving his first term as a Windcrest Council Member. Councilman Yax has a Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing.
Councilman Yax served as an Airedale in the US Navy from 1987 to 1993 and was deployed three(3) times on the USS Eisenhower (IKE) earning numerous medals and commendations, including two(2) Southeast Asia Service Medals while deploying in Desert Shield and the aftermath of Desert Storm. Councilman Yax has over 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry and an additional 17 years of business development experience in key account relationships. His professional experience encompasses 28 years in executive/supervisory positions throughout a multitude of professional environments. He consistently excelled in professional roles due to meticulous attention to detail, providing tactical business solutions, and developing and fostering key relationships and business opportunities. Councilman Yax's experiences have provided him with a strong financial background in transactions and long-term strategic asset management.
In 2021, Councilman Yax began volunteering his time and professional assistance to the Windcrest Neighborhood Block Program, which will help ensure that aid is quickly available to Windcrest residents during weather and other emergencies. He is providing both conceptual and technical direction while designing the Spatial Analysis component of this plan.
