Jimmie Cole joined the Windcrest Police Department in May 2019 and serves Chief Volz as the Administrative Sergeant. Sergeant Cole began his career a few days after turning 18 years of age when he was hired as a dispatcher for the Weatherford, Oklahoma Police Department. After a year he moved to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol where he spent two years dispatching before becoming an Officer with the Clinton, Oklahoma Police Department where he worked for almost five years before being accepting for the Police Academy at the San Antonio Police Department in 1989. Cole rose to the rank of Sergeant at SAPD in 1998 after spending four years as a Detective in the Homicide Unit. Sergeant Cole received assignments as a supervisor in the Patrol, Traffic, Internal Affairs and Homicide Units before his retirement in 2015. After retirement and before joining the WPD, Sergeant Cole spent three years creating and then commanding a criminal investigation division in a small police department south of San Antonio where he also acted as a Program Manager for the Texas Best Practice Program and was successful in achieving recognition status from the Texas Police Chief’s Association. Sergeant Cole has earned an Associate’s Degree and has recently graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor Degree of Applied Science in Law Enforcement.
