About Cindy Strzelecki
Councilwoman Strzelecki was elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2020 for Place 2 of the City Council. She holds an Associate Degree of Science in Nursing from Owens Technical College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Toledo. She also has a Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University.
Councilwoman Strzelecki is a Registered Nurse and is currently working at the Baptist School of Health Professions in their Vocational Nursing Program. Previously, she was a Regional Compliance Officer for the Baptist Health System and the Vice President of Ethics and Compliance for the Methodist Healthcare System. Councilwoman Strzelecki is a former Chief Nursing Officer and ICU Nurse.
From 2006 to 2010, she served on the Windcrest Proud II Committee. In 2018 she joined the Windcrest Newsletter Committee. In 2018 she participated on the Committee for the Volunteer Fire Association Referendum. Councilwoman Strzelecki served on two national boards for three years. She was elected Director of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and was appointed Director of the AACN Certification Corporation. She has also been a Chair for the Texas Nurse Association (TNA) and Government Affairs Committee and a past President of District 8 TNA. The District 8 TNA covers over 28 South Texas counties.
Councilwoman/Mayor Pro-Tem Strzelecki and her husband, Jeff, were high school sweethearts and have been married for over 45 years. Together they participate in the Windcrest Light-Up. In 2019 they started the 'Share the Lights Project' with the goal of helping bring holiday lights to all Windcrest Residents to have at their homes. The project continues to grow by the year, helping bring holiday lights to over 50 families just last year!
