11-2-21 Voting News Flash image

The voting will take place at Takas Park Civic Center 9310 Jim Seal Dr. Windcrest, TX 78239 from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM on November  2, 2021

The Special Sales and Use Tax Election, Proposition A, would continue the ¼ cent sales tax that was approved by voters in 2001, 2005, 2009, 2013, and 2017.  Proposition A would re-authorize the City of Windcrest to use one-fourth (1/4) of one (1) percent of the local sales and use tax to continue to provide revenue for maintenance and repair of the streets in the city limits.

The Special Bond Election, Proposition B, would dedicate funding for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, renovating, improving, and equipping an aquatic center as part of the City’s public park system. Proposition B would allow the City to seek funding in a form of debt obligation that, when issued, provides local government with funds to finance large capital improvements.   At the City Council Meeting on August 5, 2021, Ordinance 2021-013(O) was approved calling a bond election, authorizing to issue and sell one or more series of general obligation bonds of the City in the aggregate principal amount of not more than $4.9 million.

What is the estimated cost of Proposition B?

Proposition B is estimated to have a debt tax rate impact of approximately $0.0299 cents per $100 Assessed Valuation.
