Food and Alcohol Permit
License Requirements and Application
- Establishments must be registered with the city annually
- A health inspection will be performed with the Certificate of Occupancy inspection
Health and safety inspections will be performed semiannually by the City Health Inspector and Fire Marshal respectively
If you would like to report a food establishment for possible violations email the permits department with your name and contact information, and a full description of the violation.
Food Permits
Food Establishments, bars, and any other business that serves food to the public MUST obtain a food permit. Fees are determined by the number of employees and the type of foods/beverages to be sold at the establishment.
- Apply online for a food permit
- Upload a copy of the sale tax certificate
- Once applied a health inspection MUST be scheduled
- Pay and access your approved permit
- Permit must be displayed in a visible place at all times
Liquor Permits
Each food establishment that sells and/or serves alcoholic beverages MUST obtain a liquor permit through the City of Windcrest. Fees are determined by the type of alcohol to be sold at the establishment.
- Apply online for a Liquor permit
- Upload a copy of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission License
- Upload a copy of the sale tax certificate
- Pay and access your approved permit
- Permit must be displayed in a visible place at all times
Mobile Vendors
Mobile vendors, or food trucks, MUST hold a valid food permit. No Business Registration is required.
How do I get a food permit for my food truck?
- Complete the Food Permit application found on our Self-Service Permitting Center.
- Provide written permission from the property owner to conduct business on their lot
