Message From the Chief

Windcrest_Police-Volz0056I am Honored to represent the men and women of the Windcrest Police Department and as their Chief of Police, I'm proud to extend this sincere welcome to all those visiting the department website. The Windcrest Police Department considers transparency a crucial aspect required of us in our role as public servants. This website is one of the number of ways we use to communicate with the community we serve. I hope that as you navigate these pages you easily find the material and information you seek. The website is updated regularly and I encourage you to visit often.

The members of the Windcrest Police Department serve their community with "P.R.I.D.E" an acronym for the words, "Professionalism" "Respect" "Integrity" "Dedication" "Excellence" our core values. These values guide our Vision and help us achieve the Mission. Every member has a role towards achieving our Mission and from time to time members are featured.

Another aspect we use for the Website is to make public notifications of interest to our citizens, broadcasts designed to identify active criminals and persons of interest, and to alert the community to any notable crime patterns. We do this to enhance the quality of life in our community and provide the community with a safe and fear free environment in which to live, work, and play.

I am extremely proud of the men and women that I have the pleasure to work with at the Windcrest Police Department. We select, retain, and recognize only the best employees. Every one of us strives to provide a level of service that is second to none. It is our daily challenges to provide a level of service that meets your needs. Please do not hesitate to let us know when we have met this challenge or where we may have fallen short in your eyes. We are only able to perform our jobs because of the partnership we enjoy with our community

"The police are the pubic and the public are the police; the police begin only members of the public who are paid to give full time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of the community welfare and existence." -Sir Robert Peel

I look forward to an extended partnership as the Chief of Police of the Windcrest Police Department with the citizens of this great city

- Sincerely, Darrell E. Volz
