Coming Soon - Dog Park and Free Little Libraries
Dog Park: The City of Windcrest Dog Park will be located right across from Takas Park. Its final touches are being done, and we are expecting a grand opening in the next few months. Follow us on our social media to stay updated and sign up for our newsflash.
Free Little Libraries: Our Second Little Library in Windcrest will be going up Thursday, July 27. Three more will be placed in the following month. View the map of Free Little Libraries in your area. If you would like to donate books for the Free Little Libraries please drop off at the Windcrest City Hall with the Adminsitration Office.
The Windcrest Parks and Recreation Commission has planned a month full of summer activities for the community and visitors. July is National Parks and Recreation Month. Windcrest will host summer fun days every Thursday in July at Takas Park located at 9310 Jim Seal Dr.
All children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian/adult throughout the events. Wear appropriate attire for outdoor and indoor activities. Drink and snack will be provided. If your child has a food allergy, you will need to bring a snack with you.
- Thursday, July 27 - 11 AM - 2 PM - BOOK AND STORY DAY: Participants will help our Public Works paint two Little Libraries to be installed in Takas Park and Takas Park Pond area. They will place their hand in paint and leave their imprint on the boxes. Some will stick their hand in the fresh cement pad for the pole.

Takas Park offers a variety of recreational amenities for the community and visitors to enjoy. Enjoy the beautiful tree canopy in the park along the walking trail leading to the Takas Park pond and butterfuly garden. Visit the park and relax. Make the walking trail part of your daily exercise routine and bring your pet.

Visit this hiden pond located at Eagle Crest Blvd/Windrock Dr. Talk a walk around the small pond and enjoy taking a break on a bench. Remember to not feed the wildlife in the city parks.

Make Brook Falls pond walking trail part of your daily exercise routine. Relax on a park bench around the trail and remember to not feed the wildlife. Enjoy the scenery and a large open green space where you can fly a kite, toss a football or baseball, or play a game of disc golf.

Privately Owned Recreational Facilities
Windcrest Golf Course
It is located at 8600 Midcrown Dr. The golf course is open to the public with daily rates and memberships available to choose from. Stop by the club's restaurant and bar for a drink and a delicious meal. The Windcrest Golf Course is not run by the City of Windcrest
FIT Tennis Academy & Pickleball Center
It is located at 302 Zephyr Dr. The FIT High-Performance Tennis Academy and its professional trainers are dedicated to helping improve the tennis and pickleball skills of all those who are registered for their academy. The FIT Tennis Academy is not run by the City of Windcrest
