The Public Information Act
Texas Government Code, Chapter 552, gives you the right to access government records; and an officer for public information and the officer’s agent may not ask why you want them. All government information is presumed to be available to the public. Certain exceptions may apply to the disclosure of the information. Governmental bodies shall promptly release requested information that is not confidential by law, either constitutional, statutory, or by judicial decision, or information for which an exception to disclosure has not been sought.
At it's meeting held on February 23, 2009, City Council passed Ordinance Number 577, an ordinance related to time spent on requests for public information by city employees along with associated costs. To view this ordinance in it's entirety, please click here.
|The City of Windcrest requires all requests for City records to be submitted in writing.
To make an internet based open records request click here, otherwise the City of Windcrest offices are open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday (excepting holidays).

If you would like to request a copy of an Accident Report, please click here to download the appropriate form and submit to the Windcrest Police Department.
