City Secretary Kelly Rodriguez began her career with the City of Windcrest in 2007 as an Assistant Court Clerk. From 2010 to 2011 she was the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of the Windcrest Economic Development Corporation. In 2011 she became the Court Clerk Administrator, Assistant City Secretary and Post Office Supervisor. Lastly, in November 2012, she was promoted to City Secretary. Prior to joining Windcrest, Ms. Rodriguez was the Project Coordinator for Teen Court, a non-profit community outreach program for youth in Matagorda and Wharton Counties which included Bay City, the City of Palacios and the City of El Campo. She served in this capacity from 2003 to 2007 and during her tenure she coordinated collaborative funding for the Matagorda County Teen Court Teen Center. During her tenure in Windcrest, in May 2011, Ms. Rodriguez implemented the ”Warrant Roundup” initiative which has provided a new respect for the Court. Ms. Rodriguez completed the Basic Economic Development Course in 2010 through the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) and the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), is currently attending classes through the Texas Municipal Court Clerk Association (TMCCA) and is also attending classes to become a Certified City Secretary through the Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA).
